Hi again everyone.<\/p>\n

On the few occasions when the sun has peeped out from behind the clouds I\u2019ve been thinking about nice things to wear for the Spring and Summer.\u00a0 Really, they are only just around the corner!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m quite keen to make something with a \u2018vintage\u2019 feel and so I have just designed a Tea Dress which has a lovely 1950s look to it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I have drafted the pattern which includes 2 versions of the skirt: one is a very full, Dirndl skirt which is gathered at the waist, and the other skims the hips and flares out widely at the hemline.\u00a0 Either can be made to your preferred length.\u00a0 I think the dress would look great which ever length you chose.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The dress bodice also has 2 variations:\u00a0 the first having darts to shape the body, and the second has a softly ruched centre front seam.\u00a0 Both versions are very flattering.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There are 2 different necklines to choose from:\u00a0 one has a lovely sweetheart neck whilst the other has a scoop neck.\u00a0 Both necklines end in a gentle curve at the back.<\/p>\n

There is also the option to make a matching bow to trim your dress.\u00a0 This could be added to the front neckline or waistline, or even stitched to the back!<\/p>\n

I have bought some beautiful cotton fabric to make mine.\u00a0 It\u2019s a lovely shade of green with tiny pale green polka dots on it (photo doesn\u2019t do it justice!)\u00a0 I\u2019ll post pics when it\u2019s made.<\/p>\n

It would also look great in a large floral print.\u00a0 Alternatively, if you want to stick to truly vintage, you could make it from Granny\u2019s old flowered curtains!<\/p>\n
